Mountaineering Rule

All mountaineering expeditions in Pakistan require permits
and must follow guidelines set by the Pakistan Alpine Club. Mountaineering Permits

General Terms & Conditions


  • If a member wants to climb more than one peak, a separate case/application must be submitted, and an additional fee will be charged in this case.
  • A group shall consist of not more than 20 members.
  • A Liaison Officer shall be detailed with each group in restricted zones.
  • Insurance for High Altitude Porters (HAPs) shall be up to Rs. 2.00 million, and for Liaison Officer and Low Altitude Porters (LAPs) shall be up to Rs. 1.00 million.
  • The same Environmental fee shall be deposited in the GB Adventure Tourism Account for areas falling outside CKNP jurisdiction as notified by CKNP within CKNP from time to time.
  • Standard Kit shall be provided by a party to HAPs.
  • Mandatory Briefing and Debriefing of expedition and trekking parties shall be conducted only in Tourism Offices in Gilgit-Baltistan.

All concerned offices are hereby instructed to collect the fees as per above notified rates and deposit the same in Government treasury as per rules/procedures in vogue.

Climbing Regulations


Each climber must be accompanied by licensed guides who are familiar with the peaks. Additionally, the following rules apply:
● Groups should be limited to 7-8 members.
● Climbers must respect the natural environment and cultural sensitivities of the regions they visit.
● Leave-no-trace policies apply to all trekking routes

Safety Protocols


Safety is the top priority, especially for high-altitude expeditions. Our guides are equipped with emergency communication devices, and travelers are encouraged to bring personal safety gear, such as crampons, ice axes, and helmets. Medical evacuations by helicopter are available in case of emergency, and climbers are encouraged to carry insurance.
